Vitiligo

Spray taning gived vitiligo sufferers the confidence to wear shorts, tank tops, bikinis etc. Many vitiligo clients have used airbrush tanning for years to cover up light areas of their skin.

What's in the spray?

The main ingredient in the spray tan solution is DHA (dihydroxyacetone), also
known as glycerone. DHA is a simple carbohydrate (sugar) and is approved by
the FDA for use in airbrush tanning solutions.

Discovered in 1920 it was first used in the x-ray process, doctors also noticed
that it turned the skin a brownish color when spilled.

Use with children:
  In the 1950's DHA was given to children who suffered from a a disease which
  prevented them from storing glycogen (sugar) in their bodies.

Wine:
  DHA is formed in the winemaking process. It can effect how sweet wine taste.

Fat Loss Supplements:
  DHA is also a main ingredient in some fat loss and performance enhancing supplement drinks

FDA (Food and Drug Administrstion)
  In the 1970's the FDA placed DHA on it's list of approved cosmetic substances

Use as a tanning agent:
DHA has been used since the 1960's (Coppertone) as a tanning solution. Back then the tans were orange and 
  streaky. New technology and our special mixture combinations have elimnated this problem completely.
